Summer Concerts at Barntrup Castle
In every performance, the work must be reborn.
Witnessing such a birth in the Knights' Hall of Barntrup Castle leaves a lasting impression. The hall's unique acoustics can be experienced every summer during three classical music concerts. With almost no artificial lighting, the windows overlooking the summer greenery of the park provide a stage for the performers. The performances have been taking place since 2022.
The concerts are organised in cooperation between the Stiftung Schloss Barntrup (Barntrup Castle Foundation) and the Detmold University of Music. Soloists and ensembles currently in training demonstrate their incredible talents.

Our small concert series will continue in 2026. Please make a note of the next three dates, all on Saturdays at 5 pm:

The programme has not yet been finalised. The concerts will first be advertised at the University of Music in Detmold, and as always, we are excited to see the students’ applications.

Information for Concert Guests
The concerts last approximately one hour, plus welcome and moderation. Doors open at 4:30 pm. There are no intermissions. Weather permitting, wine and cheese will be served in the castle park afterwards.
The event is financed by donations. These can be made by bank transfer to the account of the non-profit Stiftung Schloss Barntrup (IBAN DE23 4765 0130 1010 1403 64) or in person in a donation box.
The number of places is limited, so we will send you confirmation of your reservation request. Participation without prior registration and confirmation is not possible.
Directions: by car via the courtyard entrance on Hagenstrasse, 32683 Barntrup. Car parking spaces are available in the courtyard; please do not drive on the lawns.
Unfortunately, the concert hall can only be reached via a spiral staircase and is therefore not wheelchair accessible.
