Wood from Local Forests

We are rooted, say the old trees, or we would not be
Traces can still be found in the forest where the limestone for the castle was quarried about 450 years ago. The forests and the castle have always had ties, and even today our forestry operations play a key role in maintaining the buildings. The districts are located in the municipalities of Barntrup and Blomberg, with some area extending into Lower Saxony.
We see timber harvesting not only as a necessary source of income, but also as an active contribution to climate protection. Processing wood binds the carbon it contains. But also as energy source, wood is a good substitute for fossil fuels, provided that the stoves are equipped with modern soot filters.
Would you like to purchase firewood? We do not offer ready-cut firewood but only sell to self-gatherers. Processing wood in the forest involves risks to people and the environment. Our company is 100% PEFC-certified. Compliance with the PEFC standards and accident prevention regulations is a prerequisite for forestry work.
